We investigated a couple of dozen hotels and clubs as possible sites for our reunion dinner party. We made on-site inspections, met with the catering managers, and got inputs from people who have attended functions at some of the places we considered in recent years. We ended up selecting the FantaSea Yacht Club because of its convenient location, attractive facilities, enthusiastic staff, and very reasonable price.

The FantaSea Yacht Club has an attractive, multi-level party room with high ceilings and a bank of large windows overlooking yachts in the marina and plenty of room for the large gathering of classmates and friends we are anticipating. The capacity of the room is 300 people, with seating and table settings for up to 250, and we hope to fill it! That’s why we got such an early start on finding and contacting classmates.

There will be a full-course buffet dinner so we can socialize to our hearts’ content and eat whenever we want. Live music from the ‘50s will bring back nostalgia from our youth and fill the dance floor. Don’t worry, there will be enough band breaks and soft background music to allow us to connect with and be able to hear old friends.

We have arranged a casual Friday night gathering for locals and early arrivals at Marisol Mexican Restaurant at the end of the famous Santa Monica Pier.  We have arranged a Sunday brunch at the DoubleTree Hotel on Fourth Street near the Samohi campus and The Promenade.  Saturday will be time to hang out with old friends and see the sights.  See the Home page for more detailed information.
